Art

Art camps at Excel allow fun and creativity to flourish.

Excel art weeks each have a different focus: choose between the art of Asia, Africa and South America as your topic of focus!

Artists will take part in sessions in one of two groups according to age. The younger group (typically 6-9yrs) will have art sessions in the morning; the older group (typically 10-15yrs) in the afternoon.

Outwith the art sessions children will join in the sports sessions with the main All Sports camp. Both age groups will participate in the team tournaments and film making activities which build over the week.

Children will not only produce their own art but also learn where certain artworks come from, how the artists were influenced and how they relate to the theme. The price is inclusive of the All Sports summer camp.

Our activity Calendar

Week by week Calendar

In this week we’ll be exploring the dynamic art of Asia and celebrating the different artists and art forms from this continent. At the end of the week we will have an art show, which you are welcome to come along to and see what the children have been creating and learning about during the camp.

The art camps take place in the morning for the younger age group (max 10 children) and then in the afternoon join the All Sports camp, while the older children (max 10 children) do the opposite.

Booking for the activity is closed.

Due to allergies Excel does not provide food. Bring snacks and a packed lunch full of nutritous food fit for a full, active day. Sweets are not a good source of energy! St George's often provide a snack at the end of the day but this will be given after sign out, to allow you to decide if it is suitable.

Bring a refillable water bottle. Water is available at the water fountains for refills.

If you need to bring medicine you will be asked to fill out a form at the start of the week and this will be kept stored for you in case it is required. This can be stored in a fridge if required.

Please do not bring ipads, tablets or telephones. If you do need a telephone, you will be asked to hand it in at the start of the day. This is to protect the taking of images of children.
